Angel's Landing

We spent conference weekend in St. George. Robert and his kids joined the group. Because Robert had not hiked in Zions, I took him on a stroll up Angel's Landing.

We had a great time. The only downside (but it did make it memorable) was the wind. Up on top it was gusting to probably around 40-50 mph (no Stewart exaggeration).

My hair in the last picture is blowing the opposite way of my standard part.

We enjoyed the experience a lot. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Palm Springs

This is a short blog, but I had to post Palm Springs. We spent a few days relaxing there at a nice resort. I played 36 holes of golf in 2 days. The incredible thing is that the economy is hurting bad enough there that you can get an incredible deal. For 18 holes of golf, with a cart, with a full set of Ping rental clubs and a bucket of range balls cost a mere $15. My golfing deal of the decade.

I took this picture with my cell phone of a neighboring course, but I played one not too far off this scale.

Carnival Paradise

We concluded our September Southern California vacation by going on a cruise on the Carnival Paradise. We went out to Catalina Island and then onto Ensinada. Not a glamorous cruise, but we enjoyed ourselves and met some nice people.

A friendly seagull with the Queen Mary in the background before we set sail.

We scouted around Catalina Island.

The weather during our whole trip was great, but it was foggy in Ensinada. Somehow Ensinada looked better to me through the fog.

So. Cal Trip

From September 16 through September 25, Patty and I got away to experience Southern California. I would have said got away to relax, but that is a difficult thing to do in that part of the world with millions of your friends.

We did have a blast going to Disneyland, Palm Springs and going on a 4 day cruise out of Long Beach (those pictures on next blog). For your viewing pleasure, here are some of the fun things we did at Disneyland and California Adventure.

This pretty much covers our favorite rides, parades, and of course a picture with me and a cow. Disney really knows how to throw a party, especially all of the light shows and fireworks at night.
